Gold is the New Fashion
Let's wrap up the evening with a post from Beauty and the Bum, which includes a couple of new shots of French swimmer Frederick Bousquet and his now famous gold Jaked (thanks, J.) full body suit from the Rome FINA games. Woof.
PS: The above linked story also includes a link to another Beauty and the Bum story that revealed a bit more of M. Bousquet than can be seen through a polyurethane swim skin. Follow the links there to yet another story you can find yourself that is even MORE revealing.

Swimming is the New Fashion, iteration *.*
I rest my case.
Here are three images from a new Dolce & Gabbana ad campaign, featuring several Italian swimmers: Emiliano Brembilla, Paolo Bossini, Alessandro Terrin, Mirko Di Tora and Nicola Cassio.
Found this on Stunning Sexy Guys.

Summer Car Wash
I KNOW this one is off topic really, but I love this shot. It's 103 degrees F here today, and washing a car and cool water seem very inviting.

Found this larger version of this photo on Bill in Exile.

Woof
I know this is technically off-topic, but I keep seeing this image everywhere in our little blogosphere, and I think this guy and his suit are two of the hottest things I've ever seen. File this under "Swimming is the New Fashion."

File Under Fashion
From Tottyland comes a recent post that I would once again file under Swimming Is the New Fashion. This is Australian rugby player Michael Witt in a speedo-centric photo shoot for Horizon magazine by Pedro Virgil.
Now if only we could get more American football players to pose like this in say, Genre?

Swimming is the New Fashion #1 - Thomas Rupprath
I've been planning for some time to start a new recurring series here at WetSpeedos, called Swimming is the New Fashion.
Consider this post #1 of many under that heading.
This is an odd photo shoot featuring Thomas Rupprath and other German swimmers and water polo players. I think I found it on one of the French gay boy fashion blogs awhile ago, but it illustrates my point precisely: swimmers, divers and water polo players (to a lesser degree) are becoming celebrities in a way they haven't been before. Why? Because they're sexy -- and because we all wish we could be them.
Aquamen especially get to flaunt their shiny muscled wet body parts in the skimpiest possible, impossibly tight -- and even sheer -- attire in front of millions of cheering fans worldwide, and do it legitimately without anyone tsk, tsking that "they might as well be naked!"
Michael Phelps is now aggressively stripping down to his speedos in TV ads every chance he gets, it seems. And as I've recently posted, Ryan Lochte is modeling, and Ian Thorpe has his own underwear line. Et cetera, et cetera. To catch this wave, fashion mags are following suit with competition swimming themes everywhere.
Thus, Swimming is the New Fashion. More to come.
